I recorded ‘Bub’ in the fall of 2017, and never intended to release it in its present form. It was always too messy, too raw and too intimate to share, and I resolved to shelve it until I found a way to re-contextualize what I had made.. but times have changed. Our worlds are smaller now, solitude is the new normal and the inner voice is our dearest companion. It is in this moment that I feel like a small, vulnerable collection of music might be helpful.

I sometimes find that music has the element of a magic trick, where explanations take away from the illusion. Three years on I don’t know if I have any words that will explain these songs better than the lyrics anyway. I’m not the same person anymore, but these songs have given me a life that didn’t seem attainable when I wrote them. That’s more than I could have ever hoped to have done with a record.
